At the library (Early Learning is Fun Practise Series)
Since June 2009, we have been working in partnership with Foundation House on a project that brings into sharp focus the resettlement experiences of refugee communities. We are working with the leaders from the Sudanese, Afghan and Karen communities to develop culturally appropriate resources and strategies for Early Learning is Fun (ELF) with the aim of:
- Increased participation of refugee families in early years universal services
- Increased awareness in refugee families about the importance of investing in the early years
- Increased access to culturally inclusive bilingual resources
- Raised awareness in the universal service system of the needs of refugee families
The Early Learning is Fun Practise Series is a range of culturally appropriate early years books aimed at helping to extend and enrich children's reading.
'At the library' by St Gerard's Primary School Playgroup offers practice at reading level 2.
